I think we've known she was Malaysian and could speak Chinese since before she debut, but I don't really fallow how this proves she's fully Chinese. I kind of wonder though if "angel mother and demon father" "mother went back to heaven" and such are just allegories for being mixed and divorced parents and such. I don't know. maybe Rie @superduper knows more recent Remi-isms about it.

It's ambiguous whether or not she is a chink because she likely learned languages the native people spoke independent of her own ethnicity. She speaks Mandarin (Rie says she speeks poorly) but she could be anything.

Malaysia's Racism issue is pretty complicated. If you check Malaysia education system (It is not like western education), the schools are separated by 'races'. You will find out that only chinks will send their kids to chink schools and study chink language, while the other races will send their kids to other schools (And they won't study chink language).
