The whole "reddit is dying" shit is a bit overblown, they just killed their 3rd party apps and is forcing everyone onto their garbage ad-ridden app. For people that use desktop, the experience is unchanged and for people that are exclusively phonefags, they already have no standards so I doubt they'll care.
So yesterday Nijisanji Koshien 2023 has finished their team drafting and from 2nd July up to 6th August, the selected coaches for this year NijiKoshien will be streaming themselves training their baseball team in order for them to be ready for the pre-league eliminations (11th August for A league, 12th for B League) and also the finals (13rd August).
Not much highlight compared to say, last year, but it's rather interesting that there are one or two Ex-ID that was going to graduate in the coming months (Reza and Hyona) who is a-okay with them to be in the list of talents available for koshien's pick. Maybe it's because their grad date is pretty far along the line (September and October) since the other graduating ex-IDs like Amicia, Nara and Azura isn't in the roster because their graduations is pretty close or during the Koshien time, which is also why Nina isn't in the roster. Interestingly, Mysta and Fulgur isn't in it despite being part of the roulette from last year, so I took a guess that the two doesn't want to participate this year. Oh and this roster also includes the recently debuted EN Male Krisis wave, which is somewhat interesting as well.
Still, fun highlights:
- Yashiro Kizuku, who previous year has to saddle as clone of Vox called "Vox Yashiro" because Sasaki Saku (who was last year coach) couldn't able to win paper rock scissor against Shiina Yuika for Vox and in exchange Sasaki decided to pick Yashiro and turn him into "Vox Yashiro", decided that his first ever pick... has to be Vox Akuma.
- By sheer chances, Shiina Yuika's koshien team has both Maimoto Keisuke and Millie Parfait together, former because of hand-pick and the latter because of the roulette. For those who aren't in the know, Millie's nijisanji JP oshii is Maimoto, and this culminates in Millie making a post realizing the fact.
Then it devolves into a imagination-laden two-parter
And to her horror, Maimoto himself retweeted it.
- Also this year each team themselves already have it's own pre-designed school team logos and brands. The reason why is because they need it for their own merch. (More funding for Riku Tazumi's personal naval fleet woooo)
Aside of that, not much interesting stuff, at least this early on. Might need to wait until a bit later down this month and August to see interesting stuff coming down the line.

Which I honestly prefer over the usual giggling failure. Aqua's actually good and wants to be better. This can lead to tangible disappointment, which leads to the audience being a lot more invested, too.

Rooting for VR Kansai just because it has Enna and Reimu in it, but it's kinda hard to get invested when I know literally nothing about the other members of the team or the coach.

I wish they lumped EN together into one team with an EN coach. Do the draft roulette thing for that team from among EN members only. This would make the whole thing way easier to follow for EN Niji fans as well as giving a home team to root for. Also would be an opportunity for multi-lingual livers like Meloco and Kotoka to shine.

Too fucking busy both with the design and the colors. The colors look like when you pop up the saturation/color tool in Photoshop and turn up the saturation to the max so the colors look pixelated and fucking weird. The eye thing is cool.
Why do I have the feeling that Zen will an-hero and it will be in part due to the whole adopted thing + being possibly trans + some dumb online argument that causes them to say some stupid shit and push away their closest friends.
