As an ESL I can tell you english isn't that hard, a lot of people bitch about it because they're lazy and forced to learn it to get anywhere in the modern world even though it's way easier than their bullshit languages that nobody cares about. The reason Asians in general have a harder time with English is because they are raised to never make mistakes and only choose the right answer on a test. Language learning requires trial and error which is like mind break to them.
They don't study to actually understand the material they study only to pass the test and get the highest grade possible.
