I believed it's older than that, since the carol (Carol of the Old Ones) was already existing since like, 2003 from a group of californian H.P Lovecraft hobbyist or something. That particular one ended up translated to japanese and either got sung as vocaloid song or covered by vtuber/vsinger/utaite/what have you.
