This doesn't surprise me, though only 1 day is a little low. So it strikes me as a lower-level Mod saw a report, checked nothing else, then handed it out. This was reporting by Valens almost surely himself, because you know he can't stop the ego-searching.
That said, looking through Twitch's Safety guidelines, I can't find a single carve out for "reporting" or "journalism" or any other associated understanding for Community Guidelines. As far as I can tell by the way Twitch presents its rules, you really can't even read the news. It hadn't occurred to me that might be an issue, but it kind of is. So reading the bannable content doesn't seem to have any carve outs, which is a classic Kafka Trap. Not surprising. Also, doesn't that mean Hasan should be permabanned by this point?
