As someone who got into vtubers late and who was never interested in vshojo, i'm still mightlily confused as to how this happened and why it continues to happen with nobody seemingly having any issues with it.
As far as I know, some either are completely oblivious to this open secret or cope saying that they can separate the avatar from the performer/actor. Vshojo also works to keep this kayfabe up by keeping those normies gaslit at all times about what's really going on.

A combination of it being an "open secret" and the normies siding with Zen (being a weirdo creep but otherwise mostly harmless) keeps him safe from any real cancel movement there have been attempts but for the most part they smelled a losing battle and went home to bully pikamee instead.

The reason you hear very little about it is because VShojo are aggressive, corrupt censors who have repeatedly issued copyright takedowns on people who reupload clips of his real voice slipping out, just like they do with the clip of Ironmouse admitting she has a daughter.
Everyone knows and the "X invades X space" thing is very performative in the first place, its almost never used with the general principle of the thing and almost always just used as a cudgel to achieve whatever obscure social goal people are trying to score at the time
