Pretty good actually. They don't have strumming support yet, but plan on adding it this year. I wish the free song rotation was larger though, since if you play for free you have a select setlist each day. One of the devs is often in Acai's (GH streamer) chat in streams, and seems like the team behind the charts/songs is pretty good.

I know some stuff was recorded specifically for this game apparently. Like the March of the Pigs drum track.
This used to happen from time to time with the old Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. In order to use them in the game they need the master tapes with each of the instrument tracks separated so you hear them cut out if you miss a note, and some artists and/or labels are pretty good at misplacing those (or bouncing them down to open more tape tracks, in the case of old analogue equipment).
The quality of the rerecordings is a bit hit and miss.
