After I talked about the VShojo Nova and Ironmouse AX panels, I checked to see what the general VTuber presence at AX will be and it turns out it is a lot less than previous years.
Hololive, Nijisanji and VShojo will all forgo having a booth this year and the only VTuber guests listed on the AX website are Dokibird, AmaLee and CyYu, with the latter two pulling double duty as voice actors.
The only VTuber "events" of note happening at AX are the two aforementioned panels and the Dokibird concert.
Either AX cut down on the VTuber content from their side or the industry collectively decided that it wasn't worth it.

Its funny that Geega had been in Vshojo for about 1.5 years and I still never associated her with the brand. Maybe its because I'm not a Twitch watcher. I still want to know how the Vshojo contract works. People kept pushing the idea that Vshojo was this perfect company that did everything for you behind the scenes and never really took anything from you but I'm going to call bullshit on this. I still stand by the idea that back when the first 3 members left, it was due to contractual obligations related to some sort of revenue split.

Vshojo has brand recognition but honestly speaking it doesn't have much brand power. What has Vshojo as a company done recently that would make you say that they are killing it as a company? All that we know is that they run things on the back end and how awesome everyone says they are but other than that the only positive thing they have done this last year was mostly stay away from retarded drama (except letting Froot post that one retarded thing on Twitter about her past).
Their JP wave to me as an outside observer that isn't really paying much attention feels like they are just there but they don't get any sort of hype or buzz. They said they would do auditions for some retarded reason and just like back in 2021, they haven't delivered on it after a full year. Vshojo brand is only as strong as the members it has and honestly it does feel like most of the members just exist but don't do much else.
Last micro corpo she joined fucked her up to the point where she is now. Honestly feels like she never got over losing her old identity to VReveriee and joining a new micro-corpo that might possibly crash and burn again wont be good for her. I dont mind that she is going into music but I feel like she should strike a good balance between both the Vtuber personna and the music side of things. She can release a banger song and I feel like if she is not too well known, it wont really get much views or traction. This is why sometimes some of the Hololive girls can release some cover song that isnt too great and it will still get 300,000+ views because their brand as a content creator is tied to it.
She should probably stick to atleast having Karaoke streams every 2 or 3 days a week to keep pumping out content and not lose momentum.
Looking a bit into RELEUM and holy shit are these guys botting the everloving shit out of their talents. Someone should do a bit of a deep dive into where they come from. Who is their CEO, where do they come from. Is this somehow related to that VReverie rebrand because it just feels off?

Recently the Green one (least popular talent) had a tweet celebrating that they got 30k subs. Its been 2 weeks since their debut. Now that shit doesnt seem right to me. Decided to check on the other girls and this is where they are at as of me posting this.
The loli is currently live. playing Deltarune to a total of 80 ccv.
She has 16 videos on her channel. 8 Livestreams 1 Videos and 6 shorts. Two of those shorts did really well and are in the +150k views which im sure helps but not enough to grant you 30k subs.
The blonde one has 50 shorts in the period of about a month which is impressive. Some have gotten over 50k views but not to the point of being extremely viral. By popularity and after this the following shorts are in the 3K views (nothing spectacular but not bad for a new channel/account).
Looking at their playboard and CCV numbers. Reminder that CCV is a bit inflated due to not having many Livestreams and the data including the Debut and 2.0 which has about 3-4 times the average CCV.
When it comes to Subs this seems botted to shit and back and while the girls seem nice, I distrust any agency that would bot subs like this atleast in such a blatant way. When it comes to views there dont seem to be much in the way of botting though only on the subs department. The shorts meta works but not to this degree and it would only work for the girl that has dropped 50 Shorts in less than a month and not on the other two who only have like 6-8 shorts in that same time period.
Fun little fact. I seem to be muted from their chat despite not really interacting or saying anything negative about them. Call me paranoid but that shit rings HUGE red bells to me.

Wow, those sure are numbers for people I have never heard of nor gotten ads for, that don't seem to have interacted with anyone in the small corpo or small indie scene. Those sub counts sure are real, especially when compared to those view counts.
I thought shorts meta was dead anyways, and even those shorts numbers are sus too. The high ones are higher than the average of what Cheri used to get when shorts meta was in full swing and she was THE fast grower of VRev, and taking a look at them they don't hit me as the kinds of shorts that'd pop off. I remember last year I watched a stream about what makes good shorts that people watch from a graduated ninja looking at actual viewer statistics, and these don't really match. Plenty of dead air, low-effort thumbnails, jokes takes too long to land.

I am a shitstain online, that's fair. I am also extremely anti-small corpo if I smell that there is something off (which is most small corpos). Normally you tend to mute people when they have started shit in some way or another not preemptively. Back when i had that Phase yab the mods muted me from all of gen 2 chats and later from gen 3 once they debut. Its not uncommon for corpos to have a blacklist but normally its enforced as a reaction.
That I know of, I have never interacted with this corpo so thats the weird part unless its some rebrand of some old small corpo which I shat on at some point (which is my guess, especially given how they seem to have popped out of nowhere and happen to be botting).
Edit: I really have a strong feeling this is a "new" corpo that came out of an old failed small corpo.

I watched some of all of their debuts and tbh I wasn’t really impressed (and my standards aren’t very high honestly). During their debuts there were 300-400 people watching. It was your average microcorpo with a loli, hag/oneesan, and some tuber with a thick accent. Speaking of, Mimyoi used to be an indie. She has a twitch with 5k followers and had a stream yesterday. The vod is sitting at ~500 views.
Summary of Matara's VShojo Experience Stream

If your goal is just to chill, you will mesh well with VShojo culture.
For smaller streamers who thinks they can go higher, whose entirely life plan is just do more work like Geega and Matara, you get filtered out quickly.
IDK much about geega but here is some notes off observing Matara:
- Company-wide collabs are basically impossible, very painful for someone who is so collab orientated and was behind 80% of nijiEN big collabs when she was in Niji
- There is no talent management within VShojo, Matara had to seek out WNE by herself, while most other VShojo talent registered under Mythic.
- Merch situation is horrid, iirc her debut merch orders were still not fulfiled after 1 year, names were missing and matara had to reach out to fans by herself.
- Matara circumvented VShojo's merch issues by employing Bricky's company to sell her merch, which ultimately resulted in her termination from VShojo.
- Matara said she does not take the weekend or any day off. When she isn't streaming she is working on something else. This is the opposite mentality of someone like Michi (or most vshojo members), who just want to vibe.
- Vshojo members actually signed away their IP regarding merch when joining VShojo. From this stream 2 weeks ago, Matara said she cant sell any merch for the foreseeable future as VShojo still owes the IP to her merches and there are alot of slimy terms & obfuscations inside the VShojo contracts. She gave out a deadline of maybe October this year, but couldnt be sure.
Note that the unclear contract terms could have been not malicious and just VShojo being really bad at their job. But this isn't the first time someone leaves VShojo, they should already have hashed shit out when nyanners left. Geega also probs in the same situation.
It make sense for the more active members to quit, because the company itself is inactive.
