So with Phase announcing their convention in 2026, anyone know if anyone in the Offkai staff or one of the "volunteers" say anything about it? I would assume most would be happy since it seems a good number of them despise Phase and the audience but I still feel like a good chunk of Offkai is based around Phase. Do they care that they might possibly lose a heavy chunk of people?

They should be worried about potentially losing a huge sponsor, if the con's a success and Fish realises he doesn't need to buy good graces at OffKai any more. The other big players like Hololive and VShojo aren't gonna be interested, the smaller corpos wouldn't be able to afford as much. I guess Brave might see value in shilling a bunch of their shit but their public reputation seems to flip every couple of weeks so them having so much influence might piss off the volunteers too, depending on the timing of the con in relation to their latest questionable termination or callout post.

It'd be interesting seeing what sponsors from outside the vtubing industry they could pick up really, vtubing is huge now but it's also a more complicated elevator pitch to mainstream advertisers.

interesting that the politisperging birb got merch of some of the more "problematic" talents instead of, say, Clara or Hime. Just goes to show imo that as long as you aren't off the deep end (e.g. wishing for the rape and subsequent death via sepsis of female family members of some of your fans), VTubing is a pretty apolitical space and can help bring people together in today's ultra divided world.

Brave's current mode of operation is to spend as little as they can and do as little as they think they can get away with, when it's not acquiring a vtuber corpo. They don't seem to be operating long-term and I don't they would analyze spending potentially tens of thousands of dollars in sponsorships for Offkai as a purchase that may pay nebulous dividends months, if not years later, to build brand recognition and loyalty as something worth doing.

Iirc she did make up with Rev and Strawb so that politisperging was more just a woman moment I doubt she's super lefty still an embarrassing crashout tho

These are their paid editors, by the way. I feel like until a year ago or so, I never saw a phase editor say much of anything, besides maybe Xyncro. I think that was better. You get paid, you get credited, and you probably get a thank you from a talent; you shouldn't need to shove your shit in everyone's face all day, every day. Every time you open Twitter, it's some bullshit attention grab. Every talent's discord channel it's something, every stream it's something. Just stfu and put the subtitles on the clips. You're not anime women, and nobody wants to hear from you.

I'm not getting the clipper hate right now. If you're making clips that helps drive new viewers to a talent, they probably watch your clips, know a bit about you and don't mind exchanging some bants with you on Twitter or occasionally mentioning you on a livestream. It doesn't appear to be that obtrusive or bothersome, and it feels fair for all the work clippers do for little or no pay.

I could see Project Moon getting onboard perhaps, given the Hime and Tenma autism for their games. Maybe even finally official sponsorships; Hime has done a lot for them as an autist enthusiastic fan.
