is it bad writing when a game with multiple paths has each path being such a different story that it may as well be a different game?

...No? Wtf? Doing real branching paths has been developers' dream for an eternity, it's just immensely difficult to do with "proper" videogames(Witcher 2 is the closest of AA+ games that has pulled it off successfully, i think). Way easier with shit like this.

That's... kind of the point? The decisions you make are supposed to influence what happens, and a lot of games with this structure get criticised for your decisions not changing things enough.

These games are built with replays in mind, they want you to try out the different paths to see the different outcomes. If the paths are similar most people wouldn't bother.

With these darker routes it started giving me Witch on the Holy Night vibes for whatever reason. Not sure whether the music or small-town vibe (edit: this is not accurate either). Strange.
Now wouldn't that be a wonderful VN playthrough to add to the channel to suppress the memory of this translation.
