Found it. Merch has been their biggest revenue source since as far back as 2022, now it's just supercharged and doubled in size.
Yes but with them not streaming there won't be any merch to sell. What separates Holo from Niji is that 1) Their merch cut for the talent is very good 2) The talent has a say to what merch they'll do 3) Why the talent is super busy behind the scenes is because they are the ones who comissions the merch especially if it isn't basic acrylic or sticker stuff. Holo right now gets most of its money from merch and sponsorships as the Holo talents are IPs of the company, not just streamers that work under them. Remember that YAGOO worked in Sanrio and you know how Sanrio is with their IPs (Hello Kitty, My Melody, etc.).
TLDR: Merch moves because the vtuber streams. Gura is UBER POPULAR but she worked hard for her to reach this point in her life where she just shill merch and her fans will lap it up. It just shows how great Cover's marketing is.

I've been seeing a lot of dooming about "OH NOW THAT THEY MAKE ALL OF THE MONEY FROM MERCH THEY WON'T EVER STREAM", do people not realize that for there to be merch demand there has to be an appealing IP behind it? People like Gura can get away with it because Holo has always been a closed off ecosystem that encourages supporting the whole lot (one of their age-old differences with Niji which was always "pick who you like") and she's also super popular and recognizable anyway.
If all of Holo stopped streaming then they would not be able to just sell merch of dead characters. If anything this growth in merch revenue represents good IP building practices and a loyal fanbase.
We don't know that, either. It's all based on clips where the translator used the word "Salary", but context is invariably the talent's income, not a separate salary.
The only corp we know used to pay a separate salary is Phase Connect, and they stopped doing that.
Show us where it says so in whatever public information Cover provides on the matter, then.

You can just google there are like hundred of videos on "how much money twitch streamers make" and dono is about 1%-3% for everyone. Peeps like pokimane/disguised toast/suisei turned them off because it's more annoying than worth.
You do need to stream to keep the audience interested to buy merch though, unless you are suisei who can keep release hit song and whatever the fuck magic gura is doing.

The most we see holomem talked about their salary is during debut month where they all say they have no money until the monetization stream. So it probs still remains "not much" at least they should be compensated minimum wage
That being said they also might have been spurging on streaming equipments like mic, audio shit when they know they are accepted into holo and can afford them now. If you ask me I'd say low to eh. Unless there is a progression system where you earn more the longer you stayed.
